Privacy
ShareTap does not create accounts and does not store your files on our servers. Your files stay local. They are transferred directly between devices and are never uploaded to ShareTap.
Data we do not collect
- Names, emails, phone numbers
- File contents
- Precise location for our own use (Android may still require a location permission on older OS versions to scan Wi-Fi or Bluetooth; we do not read your map location)
What stays on your phone
Device display name, a random device id, transfer history, and resume offsets are stored locally so you can resume a transfer and see past sends.
Internet
File transfer does not need the internet. The app may use a connection for ads, consent, and updates. Sharing still works if those requests fail.
